The Unfading Glory

‘But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.’

2 Corinthians 3:18

But we all…

Nobody is exempted. It’s not just for some specific people but for all. Everyone’s got the opportunity!!!

…with unveiled face…

We can come before God just as we are, having the assurance that “He didn’t come to condemn anyone, but to save all” John 3:17 (Paraphrased). No matter how good or bad we are, God desires that we come to him open and sincere; broken, torn or damaged, Jesus is willing to heal and clean up.

God hears the cry of the humble. Those willing to say, ‘Lord, I’ve got this dirt in my life, clean me Lord, and make me new.’

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and contrite heart- These, O God, You will not despise.

Psalms 51:17 NKJV

…beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord…

When I look into the mirror, I see an image of myself not some other person. When you look into the mirror as well, you see you.

We look into the mirror of Christ and see the glory of God. We see who we are in Christ, we see who we are to be. We are made in God’s image (Genesis 1:26), so, it makes perfect sense that when we look into the mirror of God’s word we see God’s glory because we are a replica of His Glory. We see who we truly are. We remove the veil of filthiness which- no matter how hard we try- makes us stink, and let the greatest launderer of all time clean us (Malachi 3:2-3)

…are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory…

Staring continually at our true image- God’s glory, we become more confident of who we are. The Glory of the Lord shines on us and we radiate His glory to the world. Our mind no longer sees who the world- family, friends, neighbours- paint us as, but it now reflects who we really are- cos we’re staring at our true image. We move from the former glory of self defeat, doubt, insecurity, fear, failure to the latter, unfading glorious Glory of Christ rooted in victory- victory over sin, sickness, fear, doubt, failure.

‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former.’ says the Lord of Hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.

Haggai 2:9 NKJV

…just as by the Spirit of the Lord…

No matter how hard we try, it’ll be absolutely impossible to give up the old habit of sin and move in the path of perfection in Christ.

The Spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Mathew 26: 41b

That’s why we need the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit is not just a power or force but a person who wants to fellowship and relate with us like Jesus did with His disciples while on earth. He’s the only one who can reveal who we are in Christ- redeemed and GLORIOUS!!!
